Next October learning technologists, researchers and educational practitioners will gather in La Plata, Argentina to participate in the 12th Latin-American Conference on Learning Technologies (LACLO 2017). At the same time, as part of the main conference, we are collaborating with Tel Amiel (Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Brazil), Virginia Rodés (Universidad de la República, Uruguay) and Ismar Frango (Universidad Cruzeiro do Sul, Brazil) to organise the IV Workshop on OER (#WREA) and celebrate the Year of Open.

We look forward to debating issues and challenges emerging from the effective implementation of OER policies, projects and initiatives in Latin America and the Caribbean. We are interested in discussing the political and economical implications of OER at different levels (groups, organizations, universities, schools, governs), drawn from the Regional Consultation on OER, which took place in San Pablo, Brazil earlier this year in preparation for the World OER Congress in Slovenia.

The Call for papers is now open and closes on August 30th. For more information follow the link at http://educacaoaberta.org/es/iv-workshop-rea/. You can write your proposal in Spanish, Portuguese or English. Accepted papers will be invited to submit an extended version to be considered for publication in JIME.
