Over the past year or so we’ve been busy co-developing a number of open courses as part of our collaborative work. These include the badged open course Becoming an Open Educator which was created as part of the Opening Educational Practices in Scotland (OEPS) project and which explores open education through the lens of open educational practice.  Meanwhile as part of the ERASMUS + funded ExplOERer project Learning to Re(Use) Open Educational Resources focuses on educator use of open educational resources (OER) and how to find, use and reuse OER.

Earlier this month also saw the launch of the eight week course The Digital Scholar on The Open University’s OpenLearn platform. Based on Martin Weller’s 2011 book The Digital Scholar material has been reversioned, updated and released to give the most current overview of the nature of digital scholarship and what it means for learning and teaching in the 21st century.

Finally it’s a watch-this-space for our very own Open Research course. As you might remember we ran two facilitated runs of the course in the autumn of 2014 and 2015.  In the next few weeks we will release our open textbook version of the course (via Pressbooks) which has been updated and now features participant contributions and further activities for group work. More will follow soon so keep your eyes peeled!

In the meantime, head on over to our Open Courses section for further detail on all these fabulous open courses which you can work through at your own pace and reuse and remix. And of course we’d love your feedback and to hear about how you use the material!
